The computer as Informative Tools
When I compare the degree of learning between formal teachings and exploring through the computer, I have experienced the learning through the computer is much better. It is because when we use the computer, all our five senses are applying to grasp the information. For example, if we want to browse on about a flower, it displays us with the picture, descriptions, and videos at one go whereas informal teaching, to teach about flower need certain time and learning may not remain for a long time. But through computer learning remain continues as we have experienced by our senses and at the same time, it breaks the monotonous of the teaching and learning in a class.

I have learned, how to plan a lesson and teach students using a computer. And it was exciting that every instruction must be kept ready for the students to explore. But as per Bhutanese time table in school has got maximum 40-50 minutes per period and I really concern about the time because all students may not have the same skills on the computer. During the activity even if students are working in pair or group, an individual must have skills. So I am in dilemma whether I should teach computer skills or the lesson. On top of that, I am curious that how we will know if the wrong information is there because students think that whatever information on the computer is correct but it will have a great hamper in learning.


Using the computer as an informative tool have an opportunity to gain knowledge because it has got facilities to store the information even if there is no internet. It will save time and both the teacher and students can explore at any time. Moreover, most learners are experimenting when they do the activity. For example, if we teach about ’parallel electric circuit’ in Science subject and to construct the appliances they need to concentrate on the connectivity of all the materials. So students co-construct knowledge through discussion.


Apart from teaching, I have noticed that the computer reinforces the fastness of writing skills of students, clarity of topics and the better understanding of content. For example, if learners don’t know how to pronounce the word ‘reveal’, the computer shows the meaning and pronunciation immediately. And it also makes learners compare with different information given by different writer on the same topics. The computer shows most of the materials which are not available in real but it helps to understand what are the necessary materials required and even the procedure to operate the materials are mentioned.


I came to realize, Computer is a way of making meaningful exploration in different subject or areas to get information which can be discuss able on the ideas whether they are doable or not. And through the computer, we get information quickly and even we can correct mistakes within the short periods of time. Thus, computer as informative tools spark a light in clearing doubts of many explorers and I am really informed about the world.  It has got an amazing aspect to share information.
