Computer as Constructive Tool


We learned some of the application which can be converted the passages into visual or graphic organizers. For example, the concept map was found to appropriate especially to me as it has got quality to summarize all the concept and ideas into a diagram. It was also convenient to sequence every point to retain a longer period of time. We had read the description of a cow and we tried to put that description into a concept map. There I found that students will be helped to connect the different ideas, in comprehending the passage and relating the one idea to another. On top that it enables students to learn realistically because through simulation we can experiment all the task in various subjects (science, mathematics, astrology, etc.). We get the opportunity to explore some of the simulations and it helped me expanse my understanding of the benefit of ICT as constructive tools.
I was a bit worried in this simulation because it has got high chances to disturb the entire emotions of a child as it triggers as if like physical surgery has done to us. They may experiment with this simulation to the creature like animals, friends and they may damage their physical body. Moreover, they will become arrogance and they will not feel guilty about doing physical harms if they practice simulation on driving car and medical work. They may practice realistically home which leads to emotionally handicapped.

Difficulty I faced during the class activity was I couldn’t complete the simulation experiment on surgery as we didn’t have knowledge of science materials especially in surgery. So it takes a lot of time to complete and was quite unpleasant to me. Though instructions were given in the page while we were doing simulation but during experiment we were not able to fix at a certain task. After completing simulation if it is not perfect on surgery the instructor said patient died immediately. 

Therefore it leads me emotionally disturbed and worry aroused in my mind.
Suggestion I would give on this topic is it would be better if the simulation is on teaching and learning of various subjects, not from the medical work. On top of that I am curious to learn how simulations are made. At the same time worried that whether this simulation is workable or not as we have limited computer resources in school.
