ICT as co-constructive Tool

Computer as a co-constructive tool made us active in the class because through Google docs we could construct a lesson plan in a group. It was also found to be convenient for the teacher to assess how many members have participated in an activity or not. Using this application every member in a group got opportunities to share their views while planning a lesson plan on a science subject. Moreover, if one of the members makes mistakes, other members can edit immediately. This was the amazing experience I had because we didn’t know before as and when we do a group activity. I felt that it would be taught in the first year so that we could have used this application to discuss any kinds of task.

On other hands, Google docs lead us to mismatch every view of a member and it irritated us when one of the members goes on and on editing. At the same time, different members provide different opinions and we confused to whom we should listen and accept the points. When everybody contributes to the points we are faced difficult to read all the points. Though we have chat page on the right side messages were receiving all at once so we are not able to make our points are in sequence.
Challenges faced during the session were the tutor told us to join one of the members Google docs through email but we couldn’t connect with the group leader’s docs. That time we had to open our email to get access. So it took longer time to discuss.

Suggestion I can give in this lesson is Google docs can be appropriate if we can complete our tasks when all the members are present in the session. If not through online discussion, the task won’t be that effective as all the members write at the same time. Moreover, I found that from the group it would be better if there is only one editor so that he/she can eliminate the repetitive points. We are also eager to learn some of the disadvantages of Google docs and other application.
